Jack arrived on Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong at 9pm on Wednesday 18th February 2009. There was just enough time to shake off the jetlag and swap the news from home and Australia before setting off on the first bushwalk.

This was on Friday 20th to Govett's Leap as part of the regular Friday bushwalk team that Mike goes with.

The view across the valley was quite misty - hence this shot of Jack with some of the team behind him.

We walked down to the waterfall then retraced our steps and went further north to look back at the full view of the falls - quite spectacular!!

As usual we stopped for a break and a chance for a bit more of a gossip. The group leader, Margaret, is centre shot. She is a wirey Yorkshire lady ~ full of energy.

The gum trees were shedding their bark - like a snake sheds its skin. Unfortunately, this helps provide fuel for bushfires.

The water looks OK to drink from some of these 'mountain streams'.Unfortunately it is not the case though!!

Home at last - and a chance for a welcome cup of tea and a cigarette with Donald.
